"Had the scotch fillet a week ago and haven’t been able to stop thinking about it! Was cooked to perfection, onion rings had the perfect crunch (best onion rings I’ve ever had) really nice potato gratin and a wonderful red wine jus to tie it all together. Everything on the plate hit the spot. Topped it off with the crème brûlée Thank you Split Team for being so accommodating to our group. Look forward to coming back"

"We visited Split Bar & Restaurant for drinks and dinner on an early Saturday evening and had a wonderful experience. The staff were warm, welcoming, and excellent at their jobs. We enjoyed some tasty snacks followed by dinner — the snapper fish of the day was absolutely delicious, and my son loved his pasta as well. Great customer service paired with the yummiest food made it a fantastic evening!"

"From the moment we walked up to Split Bar & Restaurant, we knew we were in for a good night. We were hovering outside doing the classic “let’s just check the menu first” routine when one of the team came over, chatted with us, and absolutely sold the vegetarian options. Safe to say… he didn’t have to try very hard after that. The vibe and décor are modern and just downright ace — exactly our style — and the atmosphere instantly makes you feel like you’ve picked the right place. The service was honestly top notch. Our server (I didn’t catch his name) and his sister were a bit of a dynamic duo, and the rest of the team were equally attentive. Every time he walked past with a dessert he’d give me a little look as if to say “you know you want this…” — a tactic that absolutely worked. Food-wise we had the broccoli in a fantastic spicy sauce, arancini, and gnocchi — all delicious and beautifully flavoured. The margaritas were to die for and the wine was spot on. The only tiny note for me personally is that I love my food piping hot, which is always a hard bar to meet anywhere — but the flavours more than made up for it. What really stood out though was the attention to detail. The team made it feel like they’d crafted something just for us, even though we know they probably do that for everyone. A genuinely great experience from start to finish. We’ll definitely be back — and next time I’m probably just ordering the dessert immediately instead of pretending I don’t want it."

"Amazing. Frist time today. Went for lunch,with limited time,so went back after,for dessert. Had the best Caesar Salad. The bacon was so well cooked and Crunchy. The 5 of us all enjoyed our lunch,then back for dessert with an extra. 6 of us were not disappointed with our dessert's . I will definitely be back. Might even take the hubby Thankyou for making our Saturday special."

"We were warmly greeted by the host and after seating us he explained the menu options and made a few good recommendations too. We selected the Anti Pasti platter, with a side of Arancini (deep-fried balls containing pork-cheek, mushroom, blue cheese & risotto rice.). The food was excellent and easily enough for 2 to share. Regrettably, we had no appetite for the wonderful desert selection. We did take our time with coffees. The staff were attentive, but made us welcome to stay as long as we needed. This was our 2nd visit and there will definitely be a 3rd and more."

"Ended up here after the place I was planning to go closed up the kitchen early, more fool them! This place is amazing!!! Whangarei locals and tourists alike if you don't eat here you have missed out. Food that is paired thoughtfully and with reason, made with passion. Service that is bespoke and fits all party sizes. Best restaurant I have found in the city. Love this place, can't wait to come back!!!"

"We had a wonderful dinner at Split Bar and Restaurant! The fish with risotto was absolutely amazing—perfectly cooked and full of flavor. The cocktail was just as impressive, and we loved every sip. Huge thanks to our waitress, who recommended both the fish and the cocktail—she really knew her stuff, and we were not disappointed. Great service, delicious food, and a fantastic atmosphere. "Kind of like being in the movies where the house manager knows everything on his menu and is you just know is proud of it. We had the most fabulous chocolate ever.We started laughing as it was so good.The house manager gave us the thumbs up knowing we’d love it.Im taking a break from our dessert to post my review before we leave.Proper proper service by a team that really are proud of the experience that you have at their restaurant.5 plus guys."
